BOOK REVIEW: My Fair Lady


There was a woman, a flowers-seller, in the center of London. Her name is Eliza Doolittle. When she is selling flowers, one man hit on her. She dropped some of her flowers on the ground. She was really angry and shouted, a very strong London accent, at him. However he was run away without paying. She kept crying with noisy voice. At the same time, a man wrote down Elisa’s every words. Someone told her about this thing. Eliza thought he is detective, so she appealed that she has not done anything wrong. He stopped writing and showed his small notebook. He studies phonetics, Professor Henry Higgins. It’s his job. He knows that people from where if people speak something. He does not like Eliza’s speaking. He thought her speaking is dirty. Into this place there is Colonel Pickering, the writer of those books on Indian languages. He was very pleased to meet to Higgins. Two men shook hands warmly and they became friendly. Higgins suggested to Pickering stay his house with him. When they go to Higgins house, Higgins threw some money to Eliza.
